I'm going to Seoul for the first time next month. Instead of the famous tourist spots, I'd like to find out about the neighborhoods and cafes that Koreans actually frequent. I'm planning a 3-night, 4-day trip.
If you're looking for places that don't feel quite as touristy, I recommend Yeonnam-dong and Seongsu-dong. In Yeonnam-dong, cafes line the park, and in Seongsu-dong, there are many shops housed in renovated old factories. Both get crowded on weekends, so weekday mornings are best.
I love Mangwon Market. It’s perfect to buy some food from the market and walk to Hangang Park. It’s a bit of a walk from the subway station, but it’s worth it.
